Business activity
Gerflor manufactures and distributes vinyl floor coverings for business and residential use. It employs over 1,900 people worldwide and has seven production plants in France, Germany, China and Thailand.
Background to the deal
Gerflor has robust development prospects driven by natural growth in its markets and the capacity to strengthen its positions in certain high-growth areas (Russia, Eastern Europe, China, Latin America). Gerflor also intends to make several strategic acquisitions.
Growth prospects
Bertrand Chammas, Gerflor's Chairman and CEO, was seeking to drive the group forward and accelerate its build-up strategy to strengthen its world positions. With this in mind, Axa Private Equity, Barclays Private Equity, iXEN and ICG arranged a third MBO alongside the Group's key managers.
